First Post: 22nd Birthday Post ^_^

Hehe... I was aiming to post up the first entry to my LJ on my birthday. But many things - an outing with friends, dinner party, cake blowing and a traffic jam - was in my way in completing this task. I just hope I managed to make it in time to finish this post before the clock inevitably strikes 12.

Oh, my birthday presents this year are... a few text messages and a bill for dinner which my friend footed on my behalf  ::sighs:: Seems like presents these day are rather immaterial? Also, I've received a truly memorable present from my younger sister.

Well, she did say that money doesn't matter and it was the heart that counts.

Btw, do you know that chinese folks - especially those in my country - tend to celebrate their birthday twice. Once according to the Chinese Lunar calendar, while the other according to the normal calendar. Not that I receive double the presents, but I did get two cakes XD

This plot is very nice. I can already see all the situations going on. Oh please do write it out when you have time. I'll definitely read it.

Just reading this makes me want to finish my Noah/Pen theme set. Perhaps I will.

The title of the fic very much fits. And sure, keep me informed some more. I'm always up to read more of this story. =)

I've been sitting on this idea for so long. I've written almost 80% of the prologue but whenever I reach Larsa's dialogues, I tend to get stuck badly. While most people are comfortable writing archaic speech, it doesn't borne so well for me T_T

And I really think you should finish that fic whenever time agrees with you. For sure, I want to read more of it. Penelo and Noah may sound like an utter crack pairing from an insane mind, but under the right circumstances, this couple can be pretty adorable XD

Within the 6 month period, the first 2 months were focused on them trying to get along and attempting not to kill each other in their sleep. For instance, Penelo is not a good chef (the food is actually edible, even if it might look horrendous) and most of the things she cook are Dalmasca flavoured (meaning, super spicy and tends to burn taste buds). On the other hand, Noah who is not used to this style of cooking would mock her culinary skills, and he's quite choosy when it comes to food (he never drinks the Alraune juice that Penelo purposely blends for him, which pisses her off because it is suppose to be good for his eyes). Not to mention, in comparison to Penelo, Noah is a much better cook (because he's a bachelor in Archadia and with his experience of caring for his sick mother when he was younger), so he tends to show off a little and bugs her in the kitchen (more than once, Penelo came close to throwing the butcher knife at his head). He never praised and even appreciated her skills for 6 months, but he realize he misses her cooking after she left ^^

In the 3rd month, Penelo's demons came to her (when the weather turns bad and there were frequent thunderstorms). In this fic, Penelo's parents were killed before her on a thunderstorm night by a Judge, therefore, she has a phobia against the sound of thunders (generally, it doesn't affect her when she's in Dalmasca cause it hardly rain there). So, after hearing Penelo screaming like a banshee, Noah took the trouble to comfort her (like an older brother), and allowed her to sleep over in his room. Being Noah, he wasn't about to offer his bed and sleep on the floor, but he did tell her that she can share his bed. And Penelo (who is still terrified of the thunder), took one far corner of the bed but ends up curling next to him and holding his hand the next morning ^^

After this incident, Penelo decided that Noah is not Satan incarnate, and he can actually justify himself being related to Basch. And it is quite hard not to feel attracted to Noah, once she put some meat into his body and gave him a full shave and proper hair cut (she thank whatever greater being out there for the fact that Noah doesn't see her blushing). As for Noah, he's still sharp tongued towards her but it is more of teasing. He came to enjoy her company and liked to hear her constant chattering; it draws him away from darker thoughts (such as killing Drace and the other inhuman things that he has done). Of course, by then, he realizes that all that Penelo had done for him was for his own good (e.g: she would make sure that the furniture in the house is placed for his convenience, the Alraune juice, she mends his clothes, and etc). Besides, he felt so pleased when Penelo made him a birthday cake, but not so pleased when Penelo invited Basch along ^^

In the 4th month, Penelo and Noah realizes their feelings for each other were something special after the May Day festival (this section is long, with Penelo being opted to be the Queen of May and Noah succeed in leading the town to steal the Maypole from their opponents and regaining their honour - he might be blind, but he is still a tactician and a strategist). Basically, they shared their first kiss on May Day itself and their relationship became awkward. At this point, there was a lot of growing sexual tension between them which leads to the 5th month.

In the years to come, both Penelo and Noah don’t know if Vaan crashing into their humble abode is a blessing or a curse. But, Vaan decided to show up at their doorstep one fine day, and took all of Penelo’s attention (subsequently, causing Noah to be insanely jealous and territorial). Both men instantly dislike each other, Vaan due to Reks while Noah was very possessive of Penelo, and this caused poor Penelo to be quite torn. In the end, due to Noah misbehaving, Penelo left him under bad terms and went off with Vaan to town. While lingering around town, Vaan told Penelo that he finally bought his own ship and it is high time Penelo return as his navigator (6 months ago, Penelo told Vaan that once he’s gotten his own ship, Penelo would quit the job as a nurse). With her growing feelings for Noah, she knew she couldn’t leave now (also, she kept on defending Noah whenever Vaan badmouth him). Finally, when it started to rain, she gave some lame excuse to Vaan about forgetting to shut her window and went back straight back to Noah.

Back at home, miserable Noah was itching to kill something and pacing around the house. He understood very well that Penelo had no obligations to stay and even if she leaves it shouldn’t matter so much to him. And when it began to pour, he assume that she wouldn’t be returning that day, upset and angry, he went around the house shutting the windows and accidentally hurting himself. Just then, Penelo came back, all wet and freezing from the rain, but instead of changing, she cared for his wound first. Somehow, Noah felt relieved and contented to have her back… and in the stormy night, a burst of emotions overtook them and the UST for an entire month… you know the rest ^^
