FFXII Vid: The Saga Begins

Somehow... you would begin to comprehend that you've attained another level of fandom insanity when you start to hallucinate and combine two completely unrelated fandom. Or maybe, the blame lies on the depravation of proper fangirlism for the past few weeks, and the sad expectation of the same treatment for the coming months.

Nevertheless, it was great fun to work on this piece for the sake of amusement and to fulfil my cravings for fandom. And seriously, by Jove, I've never expected Star Wars and Final Fantasy to accommodate each other so perfectly well - though I was highly aware of the similarities here and there.

Heh... I have to admit that majority of those icons were not made by me though. It's just that my younger sis - who conveniently is a graphic design freak - does not have an LJ account of her own so she doesn't want to take the credit of creating it. Admittedly, Basch/Ashe is my OTP, also the first fandom couple which I actually dedicate myself to - I was always a lurker before that.

Also, the collection came from continuous weekly pestering - more often than not, at water-gun point - and she older sister authority XP

Truthfully, I'm not to clear about the Star Wars universe myself - just enough to know the main characters and briefly about the plot. And I'm glad that your brother enjoyed it as well, and Nono... how can anyone resist a moogle ^_^

Though I do feel really sorry for Vaan whom had to suffer through the humiliation in the video for the sake of our personal amusement. The road to Judgeship Jedi Knighthood is definitely a thorny path ;)

Also, thanks for watching, the song itself was an interesting parody of American Pie which tells the story of Star Wars: Episode I. And I'm glad that I could find scenes to work with the lyrics, took me a while, but Vaan's goofiness helped a lot.

I laughed out loud at several moments--I think this could really be competition worthy if you handled the lip-synching more, made sure Basch's lips were moving in time with the music as unobtrusively as possible.

Yay!! I made Mith laugh. And heh.. very perceptive.

Yes, I didn't gave as much effort to Basch lip-synching moments, because... I was one dangerous dot step away from slapping him hard in the face, twice, in fact. First, he have a small amount of conversation, so there was not much choice to choose from. Second, he speaks so slowly and often have long pauses before he continues the same sentence, which makes it hard from me synch it properly with the song.

But since he is playing Obi-Wan's role, so I had to give him a few lines to sing, right? I might fix the glitches in the future, maybe ^_^

Vaan and his goofiness is growing on me, it started small but in the duration of creating this AMV, my feelings for him had a large growth spurt. And I wish Basch Obi-Wan all the luck in turning this teeny fry into a proper Judge Jedi.

Also, I just want to tell you that my fav moment of this vid is Rasler Qui-Gon Jinn's death. You probably know why! ^_^

Thanks, glad you liked it. The song itself was quite a long song (5min+), but there were an abundance of Vaan's silliness scenes so it wasn't too bad either :)

Luckily, this is a group vid and not a character vid. I'll die if I have rely completely on one character scenes. :O

About that scene, I didn't quite recall it too, I was actually looking for some scenes of Gabby when I found it. I kept it aside, and waited for the right moment to put it in. It was one of the last few scenes to make it to the final AMV, actually :D Best thing about that scene is the zooming out and making Vaan a truly 'small fry' XP

Not a bad video. I got some good laughs out of it.

Might want to work on getting some of the lip-sync down though. It felt a little awkward at times. And the faster video speed you used in a few places also felt a little awkward.

Heh, thanks for watching and I'm glad it gave you something to laugh about. Of course, that was the main point of the vid ;D

And thanks for pointing out the mistakes. Lip-sync is not my forte, and sometimes, when I get extremely lazy, I just don't feel like fixing the mistakes, I know it is there but... :\ also, not that Basch is an easy character to sync, with his speaking style (those darn long pauses between sentences) T_T

But I'll definitely try to work more on the lip-synching in the future and lessen the mistakes :)
